This is the story of the Blueskysea B2W Dual Lens Dash Camera

We have extensively discussed the main requirements for an Uber dash camera with various Uber drivers on internet forums and in person while riding in cabs.

The most requested requirements are for recording both front and cabin/rear views, and also for a single integrated camera.

Specifics like resolution or lens angle are rarely mentioned. The focus is on things like making sure it can record the complete inside of the cabin, so the IR lights need to be strong enough to reach the third row of seats in mini vans, even in true darkness.

Drivers need the versatility to record driver's window interactions while still recording through the front windshield with the primary front camera, so the interior camera should be capable of rotating horizontally and smoothly to point at the driver’s door.

Drivers don't seem to be too interested in having the camera invisible, some even point to their camera screen, especially when passengers are drunk or crazy, to let them know they're on camera and should calm down, so a big screen and visibility of the camera lens is desirable.

They also desire the ability to accommodate a large capacity memory card (256 Gb or more, most cameras are currently restricted to 64Gb-128Gb maximum, which is simply not enough).  So, the new B2W dash camera can operate with a 400GB memory card, this is one of the top selling points.

Drivers are not usually too focused on excessive detail or quality, it just needs to reliably record and lock event video footage for 3 main purposes:

1. Establish fault and identity of other parties involved in traffic incidents.

2. Provide protection for “he said/she said” situations with passengers.

3. Deter unwanted behavior by passengers, law enforcement and the general public.

In addition, the following selling points are very desirable:

Voice Recording to capture driver, passengers, and driver's window conversations.

Built in microphone and speaker to capture high quality audio, clear and without distortion.

One press mute button for when the driver doesn't want to record voice.

Auto LCD screen off timer, to avoid driver distraction, especially at night time, with the option to leave the screen on permanently.

Invisible infrared cabin illumination utilizing 4 IR LEDs, allowing the cabin view to see passengers even in true darkness, with an automatic switchable IR-cut filter to provide enhanced sensitivity at night time while providing correct color during daylight.

Large, easy to read LCD monitor with setup menus, video playback, live view, and screen saver function.

In addition to the built-in setup menu and playback modes via the inbuilt LCD screen, the Wi-Fi connection to a smartphone app provides setup, playback and video clip download via iPhone and Android devices.

Loop recording ensures the camera never stops recording, the G-sensor and large manual “lock” button ensure important video clips do not get overwritten.

Optional hardwire kit (separate purchase) with parking mode function, provides recording of video clips while parked if triggered by the G-sensor detecting an impact.

Heat Resistance and Cold Resistance – works reliably in all weathers.

A super-capacitor power supply, avoids reliability and safety problems with lithium batteries swelling/failing in high summer temperatures.

Equipped with an ABS and PC housing, the B2W dual dash cam can resist heat from -4°F to 194°F, working temp is -4°F to 158°F.

Voice announcements for memory card error, file lock, etc. safely inform the driver of camera status while driving. (It is not necessary for the driver to take their eyes off the road to investigate beeping noises).

The optional GPS receiver allows you to track the driving route, location and speed in either Km/h or MPH.

The GPS mount accessory can be bought separately if you require this function.
